Beef Parmesan

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs round steak
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 c. Italian Bread Crumbs
  • 1 med. Onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. marjoram
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 2 c. water
  • 8 oz. pkg. mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Pound meat thin, trim fat.
  2. Dip meat in egg, roll in mixture of bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  3. Heat oil in large skillet, brown meat.
  4. Place in baking dish.
  5. In same skillet, sauté onion.
  6. Add salt, pepper, marjoram and tomato paste dissolved in water; cook for 10 minutes.
  7. Pour half of sauce over meat and layer with 1/2 mozzarella, remaining sauce and cheese.
