Ingredients
- 1 cup of raisins (cooked)
- 1/3 cup of water (reserved from cooking raisins)
- 1/2 tsp. of soda
- 1 cup of shortening
- 2 cups of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups of oatmeal
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 tsp. of cinnamon
- 1 tsp. of salt
- 1/2 tsp. of cloves
Instructions
- Cook raisins in water until plump; reserve 1/3 cup of water.
- Dissolve 1/2 tsp. of soda in water.
- Cream shortening and sugar.
- Add eggs, oatmeal, flour, cinnamon, salt, and cloves.
- Drop by teaspoon about the size of a walnut.
- Bake at 375 degrees for about 12 minutes.
